A word about Invasive Species

Since 1947, the Holly Society of America has been instrumental in educating and promoting the Genus Ilex in the Horticultural world to all throughout the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia.

The Holly Society of America is an organization dedicated to promoting the awareness of and the education of all global Ilex species. That includes Native species and Non-Native species.

The Holly Society of America does not promote or advocate the use of any non-native species of Ilex to the detriment of any environment or ecosystem where the potential for invasiveness or harm to the natural environment exists.

The Holly Society of America continuously strives to focus on environmental awareness,  sustainability, and current Horticultural events/issues.  To be present, mindful and aware of how we affect the natural world around us are the attributes of a viable, growth-oriented organization.

Publications

The Society publishes a digital Holly Society Journal twice a year and the Berry Bulletin two times a year. Both the Journal and newsletter offer information and articles covering a wide range of topics from research reports, to Holly care and propagation, to uses in the landscape.
